To celebrate Global Entrepreneur Week and our amazing local entrepreneurs, Upstart Maine created an annual award, "Bangor Region's Most Exciting Start-Up." Mainers got the chance to vote for and appreciate seven local Maine entrepreneurs, and after the votes were counted, Coffee Hound Coffee Company was dubbed the "Bangor Region's Most Exciting Start-Up of 2020!" Coffee Hound is a local coffee roaster located in Brewer with a variety of innovative product lines including nitro cold brew in kegs & barrels, K-Cups, and retail & private label coffee bags.
+Mumbai to Maine won Big Gig's November Pitch-Off, receiving $500 and a chance to pitch for $5000 in the Season Finale. Mumbai to Maine is Maine's first Indian-inspired, culinary brand with home-style, regional, Indian-simmer sauces based on heritage family recipes. Read more + Bub 'n Mutha's, a line of gourmet dry rubs and a Top Gun alum, was named the Honey 'n Heat 1st place winner at the International Flavor Awards. Read more + Marin Skincare was featured on NBC10 Boston for their innovative efforts of using lobster bi-product in their new skincare line that launched in October. Read more +Ferda Farms LLC, a Foster Center for Student Innovation company, was featured on News Center Maine for selling $10,000 worth of oysters to The Nature Conservancy as part of the Supporting Oyster Aquaculture and Restoration initiative, which aims to support Maines local oyster farmers who have been affected by COVID-19.
